Welcome to PFP Vault (“PFP Vault”, “we”, “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of pfpvault.com and any related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can use PFP Vault
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher) to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms with you.
2. Your account
- Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Provide accurate information and do not impersonate anyone.
- One person, one account. Automated or bulk account creation is not allowed.
2a. Sign-up data and social login
When you create an account we record your name, email address, the IP address you used, an estimated location (country, region, city) based on that IP, and the date and time of sign-up and of your latest login. We use this to run your account and to prevent fraud and abuse, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you sign in with Discord, GitHub or Google, you also allow us to receive your account ID, username, display name and verified email address from that service. Those services’ own terms apply to your account there.
3. Using PFPs from the Vault
You need a free account to download PFPs. We keep a download history for your account. Downloaded files are named “pfpv-” followed by the name of the PFP.
Unless a PFP page states otherwise, images on PFP Vault are provided for personal, non-commercial use as a profile picture or avatar on social platforms, games and messaging apps. You may not:
- sell, resell, or redistribute images (alone or in bundles) as your own collection, stock pack, NFT or merchandise;
- use images in logos, trademarks or paid advertising;
- scrape or mass-download the Service, or use our content to train machine-learning models, without written permission.
“Vault original” images are created and owned by PFP Vault. Community uploads remain the property of their creators. Some photos come from openly licensed collections (public domain or Creative Commons, found through Openverse). For those, the license and creator shown on the PFP page apply, and you must credit the creator when that license requires it.
4. Content you submit
When you upload content, you confirm that you created it or have all rights needed to share it, and that it follows our Community Guidelines. You keep ownership of your content. You grant PFP Vault a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, resize, reproduce and distribute it through the Service and to let other users download it under section 3. This license ends when your content is removed from the Service, except for copies already downloaded by users and backups kept for a limited time.
4a. AI-generated content
If an image was created or substantially edited with artificial intelligence, you must mark it as “Made with AI” when you upload it. It will be shown with an AI label. We may add the label ourselves, reject unlabeled AI images, and restrict accounts that repeatedly upload AI images without the label. You also confirm that you have the right to share the output of the AI tool you used.
The name you give an upload is shown on the site and used as the download file name. Do not use names that are misleading, offensive or contain someone else’s trademark.
5. Moderation
Every submission is reviewed before publication. We may approve, reject, edit metadata (titles, tags, categories), feature, or remove any content at our discretion, and we may suspend accounts that break these Terms or our Guidelines.
6. Bundles and the Discord bot
Bundles are free unless clearly marked otherwise. The PFP Vault Discord bot shows the same public content as the website; the same license and rules apply to images shared through it.
7. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property. If you believe content infringes your rights, follow our Copyright & DMCA policy. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
8. Prohibited behaviour
- Uploading illegal, sexual, violent, hateful or harassing content, or images of real private individuals without consent.
- Attempting to bypass security, rate limits, the login requirement for downloads, or moderation.
- Creating accounts to get around a ban, using throw-away email addresses, or creating more than one account with the same mailbox.
- Spamming, manipulating downloads/saves, or abusing the report system.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, PFP Vault is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Antwerp, Belgium, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
